A child’s blocked library account will suspend the parent’s borrowing privileges
A parent or guardian is responsible for all items checked out and for all charges accrued on their minor child’s card.
Both the child under 15 and the parent will have their borrowing privileges suspended, if there are fees over 10 euros on the child’s card, or if the child has received an invoice for overdue library material. The borrowing privileges are reinstated when the charges are paid and the outstanding material returned or paid for.
There are no late fees on material for children and young adults, but a child’s card can accrue fines for overdue adult materials.
The suspension of borrowing privileges will alert parents that a child’s account is blocked and that they should return all overdue library material checked out and pay all charges accrued on the child’s card.
