The libraries are closed and the mobile library service is suspended 18/3–1/6 to prevent the spread of the coronavirus (uppdated 18.5.)

Government order closes all libraries until 1/6.

Main library and Vähäkyrö library will be open for pickup of reserved items between 11/5 and 1/6. You can pick up reserved items from these library locations, if you have received a notice from the library confirming that the items are ready for you to collect.

The new due date for all library items renewed on or after 31/3 will be 18/5. The extended  loan period applies to all materials: books, short loans, DVDs, CDs, and sports equipment.

We have extended the loan period for all items with a due date between 18/3 and 13/5. The loan period for these items has been extended by 70 days (ten weeks). For example, if the due date was originally 14/4, the new due date is now 23/6.

The extended loan period also applies to items that have been reserved by someone else.

Please notice! If your loans were due on or before 17/3, please renew them online or by phone during the closure. If you do not renew these loans during the closure, they will accrue late fees for the whole period between the due date and the return or renewal date, including the closure period.

During the closure, you can renew your loans even if you have already renewed them five  times. You can renew your short loans twice.

If you did not collect your reserved items from the library before the closure, you will have until25/5 to pick them up when the libraries reopen.

The library will not send any pick-up notices for reserved items during the closure. If you reserve items during the closure, you will receive the pick-up notice when the libraries reopen on 14/5.

There will be no late fees for items that are due and renewed during the closure.

You can request interlibrary and regional loans on the library website during the closure, but the requests will not be processed until the library  reopens. All interlibrary loans are automatically renewed and will not be due until after the  library reopens. You can check the due dates of your loans on the library website (My loans) or by contacting us at 06 325 3540 Monday–Friday 10:00–15:00.
